When I decided to get my bachelor business degree online, my friends were skeptical. My parents, however, were not skeptical – they were horrified. They thought my online bachelor degree idea was one of the worst ones that I have ever had.

You see, in my family, I am known for my outrageous pranks and ideas. They thought getting a bachelor degree online was only another one of these.

My parents are both very traditional academics. They cannot see how an Internet education certificate can help. In their opinion, the point of going to the university is as much about the intellectual community as it is about the job skills.

Getting an online education degree would deprive me of the most important part of going to college. I would not be able to engage my peers in intellectual debate. I would not be able to mentor under the guidance of my professors. Needless to say, they were not supportive.

Nonetheless, I decided to follow my own ideas and get the bachelor degree online. I have always been pretty self-willed.

This may be one of my many weaknesses, but it is also one of my greatest strengths. I decided to get an online business degree because, no matter what other people said, it seemed like the right thing for me.

A lot of people mocked me for getting a bachelor of business administration. I hang out with a pretty intellectual bunch of people, and they thought that this was an easy and intellectually worthless degree. They figured that the only reason that I would graduate from college was because I wanted to have more money in my job.

A Bachelor Degree Online Does Mean More Money - What's Wrong With That?

I couldn't fault them for thinking this. It was true. I was sick of working at a low wage level, and wanted to make something of myself. Just because I did not have the same creative ideas as they did, that did not make my plans any less meaningful.

Getting my bachelor degree on the Internet was part of my greatest dream: to make a lot of money. Who is to say that my dream is less worthy than anyone else's? My dream is the American dream, and it is a great one.

I don't know yet, but I think my college education will really help me with this. I was able to stay in the same company while working on it, and the boss is very supportive of my plans. It may be the beginning of much bigger and better things.
